Autumn Walks II

Description

Wandering down the path to the unknow. Autumn Walks II just screams of color and adventure and curiosity. It draws you in to the hike, bringing you that crisp Autumn air feel that we love so much. I was inspired to make this and the first piece, Autumn Walks I, as a way to explore looser color approaches and doing the same scene in two different mediums. This being done is soft pastels and the former with oil pastels which behave quite differently. In the Art world they are considered different mediums. This work allowed me to focus more on the overall color and mood of the foliage rather than tediously trying to paint every little leaf in the picture.

This piece won 1st Place in the November 2019 Monet Cafe challenge’s beginner category.

Original is 8×10″ on pastel paper created with soft pastels.
